Bayern roster taking shape: Benzing, Hamann extensions, Delaney arrives:
Bayern Munichs roster is taking more shape as they spent the week re-signing two major pillars and adding a major new part to what they hope is a title-winning puzzle. Munich signed a two-year extension with Robin Benzing until 2015 while locking up captain Steffen Hamann for one more season. The next big addition is 24-year-old Malcolm Delaney on a one-year deal from Budivelnik Kiev (check out the high light video below). The combo guard is a proven winner, winning the French and Ukrainian league crowns the past two seasons. Bayern meanwhile bid farewell after one season to Israeli international Yotam Halperin and point guard Tyrese Rice.
ALBA lose leader, sign two players; Bayreuth add another intriguing piece; Betz moves to Würzburg
ALBA BERLIN continued their re-shaping of the team in signing Alex King to a three-year deal and bringing in Reggie Redding for two seasons. Berlin did lose one of their leaders in watching Zach Morley leave town. The American veteran Morley turned out to be another intriguing addition at medi bayreuth where he inked a two-year deal and joins fellow veteran leader Ronald Burrell on winning coach Predrag Krunics suddenly more and more interesting side. Besides Reddings departure, WALTER Tigers Tübingen faithful saw Vaughn Duggins sign with Le Mans Sarthe where he will play with former Beko BBL MVP DaShaun Wood. But Tübingen did add Jonathan Wallace on a one-year contract. Despite losing their captain King, s.Oliver Baskets Würzburg made two important signings in bringing on power forward Lamont Mack for one year from Italy first division side Victoria Libertas Pesaro and Sebastian Betz for two years from ratiopharm ulm.

Rumor Central: Are Idbihi, Djedovic heading to Bayern?
Not that we want to spread rumors, but here are some of the top rumors of the week. ALBAs exodus appears to include center Yassin Idbihi and shooting guard Nejad Djedovic. Both have been connected to Bayern Munich in the past weeks. The question also remains what will happen with Heiko Schaffartzik in Berlin. And where will Elias Harris land after going undrafted? Four-time reigning champs Brose Baskets Bamberg have only added Jamar Smith thus far and coach Chris Fleming will be coaching a team at the NBA Summer League. So expect a move from them soon. Bonn, Artland, Bremerhaven, Braunschweig, Ludwigsburg all have numerous spots left to fill.
Artland Dragons return to Europe for seventh straight go-around
The Artland Dragons will be returning to Europe for the seventh straight season after accepting a wild card for the Eurocup competition. The team in their 11th season in the Beko BBL has played three times in the Eurocup/ULEB Cup and three seasons in the EuroChallenge, reaching the ULEB Cup Last 16 in 2008 and the EuroChallenge quarter-finals in 2012. Summer League Update: Ohlbrecht and other German connections in Orlando
Those basketball fans looking for their summer hoops fix can look to the NBA Summer League also for a Beko BBL connection. The Orlando league runs until July 12, when the Las Vegas league also tips off and goes until July 22. German international Tim Ohlbrecht is playing for Houston in Orlando, having played in two of the Rockets three games thus far with two points, three rebounds and one steal in about 17 minutes of action. His Houston summer league teammate is TBB Triers Vitalis Chikoko, who did not play the first game and had just one turnover in two minutes in the second before collecting five points, three rebounds and one block in 11 minutes versus Boston.
There is also a connection to the Utah Jazz team as former star Tony Gaffney picked up 13 points, two rebounds and one steal in his first game after two DNPs. Also on Utahs team is Michael Stockton son of NBA Hall of Famer John Stockton and leader of ProA side Karlsruhe. In two games, Stockton has 10 minutes played, seven points and one rebound.
Another player to watch could be power forward Romero Osby with Orlando. Why watch the guy who has averaged 11 points and 4.7 rebounds in about 21 minutes per game? The former Oklahoma Sooners force was born in Frankfurt, Germany. Could a German passport be an option? Check out his game:
